Hi everyone! I'm an independent consultant teaching multimedia creation, strategic audience engagement and media monetisation. Since 2013, I've provided professional development training in over 40 countries. Prior to that I was a broadcast journalist with the BBC World Service and ABC Australia. I continue to work as a reporter, covering digital technology and the future of news for a range of outlets including the BBC.

Skills I teach mobile journalism, podcasting, social media strategy and audience engagement, strategies to boost media revenue, and branding. I also provide soft skills for journalists to help them cover science, health, climate change, gender inequality, and to work effectively with audiences using constructive and solutions journalism techniques. I also provide media training for social impact NGOs and businesses with a focus on B2B and B2C communications.

Past clients include Thomson Reuters Foundation, BBC Media Action, the International Centre for Journalism, the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, the World Association of Newspaper Editors, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, the World Federation of Science Journalists, CNN, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Oxfam, the World Health Organisation, Medecins Sans Frontieres, the European Climate Foundation and the UK Atomic Energy Authority.

I also co-organise an annual Mobile Journalism Conference for Asia in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Media Programme Asia, and am the author of The Mobile Journalism Manual for Reporters and Newsrooms, which is used as a set text at more than 80 universities worldwide.
